How to Determine a Good Narvik from a Bad

I've looked at MANY of the threads trying to determine on my own if this was a good one or a fake. What I'm seeing is just, "It's good" or "It's a fake". I can't find the one that explains what to look for in a good one and a bad one.

There's a really good one that spells out how to determine this when looking at the Kuban shield. Can someone point me in the right direction or fill me in here on this thread.

Is this a good one or a fake and why?

I agree, nice original type 1 shield.

I wish there was an easy way to explain how to determine a fake from an original. If there was I would make a thread and pin this to the top and always refer to this thread. But there isn't. It is always comparing with known originals and known fakes. After seeing hundreds (or maybe thousands) of shields you get a feeling for what to look for. For example the eagle's head, wings, numbers, etc.
That said, handling in person as much as shields as you can is still the best way.
