It's years that I study the Souval wartime and postwar production, since when I started the research about the Memel medal. In each book I wrote (Memel, Afrikamedaille, Anti-Partisan badge...) I deeply researched the Souval production, looking at the wartime and postwar specimens, and knowing some info from a first hand source.
Souval bought a lot of dies here and there just after the end of the war, and when he can't buy the die, he created a new one (see for example the Blood Order, the Memel, the numbered PABs and so on...).
Most of the postwar Souval shields have the back side made in the same way (see the Balkan for example).
This is the first time I share these infos, even if some are already published in my books.

      My books:

      - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
      - THE SS TK RING
      - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
      - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
      - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

      and more!

That is great info. Thank you guys.
The first shield is not not magnetic and it becomes now clear that this is also a Souval fake.
I had no idea that the two shields posted by Железный were the same but after close examination and explanation by Железный, they are.
As these Souval fakes are using the same die I am wondering and very much interested how you can determine so quickly that one is a fake (Souval) and the other one is original without knowing the material???
For me they look perfectly like the original except for maybe a little flatness of some of the details.

        Pascal

Ps as these fakes have fooled a lot of collectors and probably will do in the future it is maybe an idea to make a separate thread of these fakes and pin it to the top.

            Hello, Antonio.
I doubt that these signs did Souval after the war, it is probably of modern manufacture. The market they began to appear about 8-10 years ago. As an argument if signs of manufacturing in the period 1945-1950, with a probability of 99% would now be the original. By the way, what are the dimensions of the shield?

You are absolutely wrong. My shield was bought in '60 (so not 10, but more than 50 years ago).
I know Souval MM and compared them several times with known postwar Souval production piece. You should read some of my works just to understand how time I spent researching what Souval made after the war.
I have real solid proofs about Souval production + direct informations + direct access to Souval postwar production. You have only a theory because someone told you these shields surfaced 10 years ago.
Your theory is absolutely wrong and without any real proof. There are other shields produced from Souval after the war, I suggest you to search them and study them (but they are very rare to find). I'm sure you'll find a lot of infos about and you change your mind.

You have bought it in 1960?

I saw your works. And you saw mine?

It is not the theory. And my experience. Unfortunately, I didn't see your proofs on shields and Souval.

I study shield, most likely, much longer, than you.

If you know everything why did you ask for more infos about Souval production?
Of course, if you know everything you should know also all the rest and you don't need to see some more evidences.
I will for sure not share with you any single word of my researches, you don't need them since you already know everything (even that these shields were produced 10 years ago... ????!?!?!?).

Let me know what you published and where, and I'll be happy to read it.

I didn't say that I know everything. But I haven't got used to trust everything that is told. I trust in proofs which I haven't seen. You haven't answered my questions. You shouldn't take offense.

You published one book, in russian language, but you missed the postwar Souval production?
I hope the rest of the book don't miss other infos.
