Lappland shield type that can be confirmed genuine.

This is related to the other Lappland thread as it's a shield found just a few hundred meters away from the 'press' found this weekend but is of a different style.

This one, which was found a few weeks ago, again on a former LW airfield that had over 5700 interned, mostly flak soldiers i've actually found in my little database of shield types.

Pressed in thin aluminium, but also seen in brass it has a very distinctive coastline style, also notice the lettering anomalies, like the slightly lower first L and the gap in the D.
I think my one was a poor strike and so thrown away, but it confirms this particular style as genuine.

Looking in to it a little further, i think this style is based off a particular shield type seen in award documents from this particular region of Norway.

Whilst making allowances for the skill, or lack of, of the maker of the stamp\mould\press along with available tools and materials, there are plenty of features to indicate the same source design. In addition the shields are also the same size.
The type on the right is also in my collection and comes from a LW aircraft mechanic, though not in the same camp.
