Last one of these I had was proudly displayed for over 30 years and looked great to me until I was told it was a repro here last year. Lets hope I did better this time...

Recently saw this one and figured it would be a good replacement for the fake. According to my findings, the attached (magnetic) Heer Krim shield is an original product of Karl Wurster and the "leatherette looking" black backing is original to the piece right?

This is indeed a fine example of the Karl Wurster Krim shield with the correct backing.

Does this variant (Wurster) exist with the other backing cloths ( KM, Luft etc ) and are they relatively easy to find if I would like to make-up the set or am I dreaming in colour and I should just go for a mismatched set?

Well, now that I repaired my "Krim" screw-up I'll need to address the "Demjansk" mess too. I must say though that I never felt sore/abused about these copies because in all fairness that dealer did come through with lots of great stuff for me at the time. I guess that like a lot of other pieces we didnt know as much about these in the 70's
