    KRETA Cufftitles

Here are two examples from my collection. After my research here on the Forum, I am presenting both - the first one I believe to be period original and the second which I do not think to be good. I would appreciate feedback, please.

    1. Standard issue; full length (44mm); unmounted; measurements and other relevant details largely consistent with those outlined in the WAF section dealing with this award.

#2. Full length (45mm); unmounted; felt-like material; thin gauze/linen tissue cloth backing on the embroidery; Russia braid/soutache not sewn consistently tangent to the top and bottom edges of the base cloth; not all letter measurements consistent with originals; ends without single vertical machine stitch; several letters (K-R-E) show a connected stitch.

You are right, first is a very nice original one, second not.

              My books:

              - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
              - THE SS TK RING

              - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
              - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

              and more!

Thanks very much, Antonio! It came from the family of a Fsj. veteran so I was pretty sure of it...but I learned a long time ago to buy the item, not the story - unless there is definite provenance. I am now very happy with this good one, especially given the condition. :-)
