    Kreta Fakes?

    Gents,

I have come across two Kreta cufftitles for sale from a reputable dealer. However, I'm having doubts about the first one (the "cleaner" looking one), due to the muddled(?) details of the acanthus and the lack of yellow coloring on the letters' reverse. The other (soiled) I believe to be original.

However, I am an amateur, so I would really appreciate your thoughts on these items!

    Thank you in advance!
    ~Matt

    Yes, you are correct.
If not a fake the first CT is very questionable. It has too many red flags and is absolutely not a cufftitle I would add to my collection. IMO a postwar copy.

    Second is an original one.

    My books:

    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

    and more!

The first one is the typical version offered in the 70's to veterans in Germany ,
      without folded cloth behind .

        Antonio and Nick,

Thank you so much for your valuable input! I'll share this discussion with the seller so he can change the listing.
