......In my opinion this is not a match to the Type 4. There is metal between the wings and head on your example, and there is no metal between the wings and head on the type 4 example in the pinned thread. There are other observable differences as well.

Perhaps a better image will tell a different story?

This is not an original shield.
This type of copy is known to have side tabs.

Always be very careful with Narvik shields with side tabs as to my knowledge there are, to this day, no original Narviks shields known with side tabs.
