    Afrika ct fake ?

Here is an interesting Afrika ct. Usually can tell these with just a glance but this one is troubling....

!st photo its the lower one, top is an original ct.
2nd photo its the upper one, notice the letter stitching details from the reverse...

What do you guys think ?

My gut vibe is that its good. Unsure what the bone of contention is (?) the differences seem very minute. The font and style of embroidery look right and so is the match of the brushed, camel, cotton its done on. If fake... its museum grade, do you own it?

Hi Tim, are you trying to anticipate all the news I'm keeping in secret for the cufftitles book?

What you showed here is IMO the most rare type of the Afrika CT to find.

Please, write me (even via PM or email) where did you find it and if it is possible to buy it.

      My books:

      - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
      - THE SS TK RING
      - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
      - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
      - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

      and more!

Very much agree here. I haven't seen a fake CT duplicating the base material, especially to the reverse texture.

          Thanks for the replies,

Here it why the owner thinks its a fake (which i was not convinced) but thought to seek other opinions....if anything the lack of "splay" on the letters and just the lettering in general throw me off abit.

"First of all, the orientation of the fabric is a different way round. Look at the way it frays. The title is wider than mine and has a wide margin between the borders and its edge. The colour of the borders and the embroidered letters differ and the embroidery itself is shaky. Look at the “R” and at the feet of all the letters, which lack the pronounced splay of the authentic title, and look at their nasty knotted rears."

& Antonio would not want to reveal to many secrets before your new book

Glad to hear you guys agree its a good one and it helps keep my paranoia in check

Barring irrefutable evidence to the contrary, I'd say the pro's outweigh the con's on this ct.

I don't see it as a repro, its a bit of a variation but its original as far as im concerned. The letter details are a bit off from the standard one but its a fine original in my opinion. Matt

Thanks Robt & Matt for your further comments. Agree, other than the 'lazy' letter shape it looks fine as far as materials & construction.

Its great to have guys like you to consult with

Just an update, just now have purchased this ct & have it in hand. Its a fine original for sure. Base material and letter stitching are the same as the standard Afrika ct. Again thanks to everyone's help

                  regards
                  Tim
