I've never seen before a blue gothic Afrika CT. I've see only few and all were black with different stitching, different base material and different construction.
Furthermore in the accepted black gothic cufftitles the writing "AFRIKA" is thinner than in your.
To be honest, if a piece like this doesn't have an unquestionable provenance, I would pass on it.

very interesting example.. can we see the back? I wouldn't rule it out as a possibility but again its not an accepted gothic Afrika cuff title. The odd thing is that the black gothic Afrika cuff titles are really early in the campaign and the blue Afrka cuffs are mid to later Afrika campaign. Some back shots would help. Matt

Have seen photos of the LW blue version back in '91. Just have never seen one i thought was original, unlike the "one-look" black version Antonio has posted....

A similar but cut down cuff, it looks black but is actually very very dark navy blue wool.

I like the one that started this thread, I am very hesitant to call anything that Rikster posts as original, but this one seems to be ok. He has stepped up his reproduction game and I am pretty sure he has an embroidery machine...
