Kreta cufftitle

Hello,

I bought a Bundeswehr tunic that happen to have a "Kreta" cuff title on it. Is there any chance this is a ww2, war time made cufftitle that was later sewn on to a post war BW tunic?? I know they made a post war ribbon bar, but did they have cuff titles too?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi Rylan, I consider this pattern a '57. Band material and stitching are 100% not wartime.

I agree as well. Its not a warm time cuff title, most likely a 57 version.

Whilst the construction bears a passing resemblence to the dark brown KM version, that is where the similarities end. There is also a Kreta band in pretty much identical form which I have seen described as a 57 version more than once so that might well be the origin of this one.

Thank you all for your responses. Although not war time I still am happy with the tunic it is on. Some of these Bundeswehr tunics are kind of cool
