Inf Regt Grossdeutschland cuff

Hi Guys

I have picked this one up and understand that this is a seriously rare although authorised for a short time version. Has anyone got one to compare to? This one is hand embroidered in cotton with thick paper glued over the rear of the stitching. It has been taken off a tunic and nothing glows on it.

Do you know what timeframe it was allowed to wear?

I believe it was from May 1940 to around October 1940 when the sütterlin script came out. It was changed from the green to the black because the members of Großdeutschland thought it looked to much like a civilian postal cufftitle. I have never seen an example of one before but this piece intrigues me I am curious to see what the others think, also try the Heer Insignia forum you may get some other opinions as well.

There is a not too good image in the reference book "German Military Cuffbands 1784-Present" of the only issue style of flat aluminum wire on dark green like the first pattern cuffband.

I know any one original example of this 2 nd Pattern GD Cufftitle and any period Foto with this Cufftitle.In us was 1 st pattern and next was 3 rd Pattern.2 nd Pattern GD Cufftitle is to this day a big question and enigma.IMO this CT was a prototyp and never used on GD Unit...but this is MO.
