    Grossdeutschland Cuff Title Review

I'm throwing this out there for review. The cuff title is full length and in nice shape. This seems to look good to me but I'd like some thoughts. Let me know if you need additional Pics. These are a little over exposed. They looked a lot better before I ran them thru photo bucket. The silver border threading does not show to well. Thanks for looking.

Very interesting cuffband, I have a few concerns, I have never seen a latin script version like this one. Typically they are sewn not in Bullion like this, so it could be a private purchase, but it just looks off. Did it pass the burn test and or UV test? That would be a good place to start to determine if it is period or not.

Also, try posting in the Heer insignia forum they might have some further insight

It did pass both tests. I will post a few more pics for review...these pics are not the best.

            title

The cufftitle is a gross reproduction. The materials, lettering are all unlike originals.

                      measurements

Sorry for the late reply....i've been distracted elsewhere. The measurements are 18" inches in length and a little under 1 1/2" in width. I agree with some of the comments regarding the unique pattern. However, I bought this with a couple other items from an estate. The other items were authentic and have been recently sold to other collectors. I've been told by some other collectors that they thought it may have been a custom production.

I still do not like it, its too far removed from "normal" designs, even if period private purchase you would expect it to resemble an "issue" piece, yes the guys stretched the rules but not this extent.......oh and as we deal with European stuff here perhaps using metric measurements would be clearer.
