It's a fake Kreta cufftitle. So your "day of fakes" goes on... I hope you can give back this CT to the seller.

    My books:

    - THE WEHRPAß & SOLDBUCH OF THE WH
    - THE SS TK RING
    - THE ITALIAN-GERMAN MEDAL
    - THE ANTI PARTISAN BADGE
    - THE AWARDS OF THE LW

    and more!

I never buy anything I'm unsure of without the approval of you experts unless its an absolute steal, of course. Sure, posting it might give others the chance to find it but I'd rather pay more for a genuine item then less for a fake one Thanks guys, he'll have to find some other schmuck to pass it off to

Really I would even pass up items that appear to be steals. Most people selling online have an idea of what prices could be. Just by typing in German militaria for sale, they stumble to many sites showing a range of prices. Why would someone be willing to sell an EK2 for $20USD when it should be around $100 at least? The axiom: " If something is too good to be true, it usually is"
Still rings true and especially with TR militaria.

Agreed 99% of the time. For the purposes of my previous point I was referring to "steals" in estate sales, garage sales, antique shows, etc.

With regards to the internet, however, I have picked up several good authentic pieces over the years for much less than market value due to things like misnaming, poor photos (in cases where I have then been emailed much better photos while the online photos remained un-updated), or general lack of knowledge of the item on the part of the seller. This is harder with TR militaria because the swaz tends to be synonymous with the dollar sign nowadays to almost anybody. I find with other militaria that there are deals out there almost all the time. A friend of mine just picked up an M40 camo (completely original) on fleabay for $85.00 buy it now so needless to say deals are still out there!
