    GJ uniform mounted NARVIK shield

    Hi,

does anyone have opinions abouth originality of this shield?

Can one be sure of its originality when mounted on a uniform, hence one can't se the backside ? (i don't have the uniform here)

If real, what type/version NARVIK shield is this?

    Many thanks

The 4 looks good, but the lettering looks weird to me-I'm no expert, just what I see/feel. Look forward to what others say.

      Maybe you're right.

I was thrown off by the un-even feathering of the wings, they mismatch from one side to the other if you look closely.

Anyone else care to make a qualified opinion on the shield?

        ........

It's a good zinc shield attributed to Juncker

Thanks for info panterv,i have been studying the different Narvik shields in the pinned thread, would you say it's a type 3 or 4 version?

Are the feathering of the wings supposed to be that "off" ?

But does anyone have a comment to the "irregularity" in the feathering on the right side(eagle's left wing)? That the short feathers dont "match" the long feathers?
Just seems odd that it is that inaccurate, all medals and shields have such high standards in the making that this strikes me as odd..

NOT disputing your opinions about it's originality what so ever, but just intrested in knowing more about these

                    Hi Terje,

I'm afraid the answer you look for lies 70 years from here.
I did not search if it has been discussed already,
but when watching over my shields it seems a quite common feather feature.
IMHO it just makes the eagle nicer, a matter of taste i would guess.

                    Cheers,
                    Orjan

                      Interesting observation Terje.
This "feature" is however characteristic for this type of shield.
