I agree, this shield is one of the most famous reproductions, calle "serif J" due to the type of "J" used.

These Demjansk repros seem to be making a comeback now.

I agree with the others. Unfortunately a Sherif J.
However, your photos provided are really good. I wish all here would post such detailed shots.

Are all Serif Js known to be bad? Were there any originals at all like this?

Maybe the type 4.5 by unknown maker was the basic material to the fakers.
This is old problem,you can find more threads from this, if you search for "sheriff J " problem.

Fake, but I see The collectors Guild has one for sale.

Her is mine . 100% original 4.5 - Unknown manufacturer. Magnetic.
This is the shield that was model for the Zinc fake (Serif 'J')

Thanks for posting the shots, Andrei. Just like the one I've had for 25 yrs.
On mine: swords narrow, sword handles streamlined, eagle tall.

One of these days I'll get a photo of it on here for us-- as I seek
more info on it and there are many who know much on this fine site.
