Hello,
This is my final posting for campaign shields and I think I know the answer after looking at Pascal's posting about fake Kuban shields.
I see the "high J" in Krymskaja and the number 4 has a shorter horizontal crosspiece in 43. Also the eagle's head and beak is not too detailed and apparently the Friedrich Orth ink stamp on the back paper is a telltale sign this is a fake. The top of the letter A in Kuban is apparently too wide also. The only other thing is the metal of this shield is magnetic, I don't recall seeing this stated in the postings of other fake Kuban shields and though I would share it.
I guess it is safe to say this is a fake that I got fooled on about 10 years ago, just want to confirm with more knowledgeable collectors out there. I wish I had seen this site and known what to look for when I bought it!
Thank you in advance for your assistance!
Glen
