NARVIK shield on backing for your review

    Hello,

this one recently came in and comparing it to my former one, there are some differences. Not being an expert, I just wanted to confirm that with the shield itself as well as the backing everything is OK.

    Thanks in advance!

Black lighting is NOT an accurate way to authenticate cloth items. Many TR period cloth will "glow".

I definitely agree about black lighting as it is only one tool, of many, to rely on in order to establish authenticity.
Many TR items will glow, especially if they have been washed or dry cleaned...and the intensity of the black light glow will vary....you must be able to read the whole item, not just the one singular test.

I personally like the shield......now if I can only find a complete original Cholm in the same condition.

                  Thanks for your support guys!

Having it in hand I really thought that the craftsmanship was not really good which raised some concerns initially ...

... and knowing that the BL test is not the deciding factor for real or not, what can I do to verify the backing a bit more? Or are there no doubts about this?

                  Thanks!

                    Hi kev:
Looking at your first pic. See the bare spot above the 19?
See the bare spot below the K?
imho that is the correct weave. John
