Kuban & Demjansk shields for opinion

I have searched the forum and I am satisfied, in my mind, that these are reproductions; just looking for some additional input to satisfy my observations.
    Thanks,
    Bill

Kraut72, Thank you for your quick and positive response.
I spent some time reviewing posts on the forum and I could not find any Demjansk shields with the elongated letter “E” or the style of “J” on my shield; there is quite a bit of information on that shield, maybe I missed something.

After additional searching on the forum I found some original shields with the same lettering as my shield; the shield I found was listed as, original, unknown maker. I guess it pays to be persistent.
        Thanks Kraut72

I have included images of the back side.

Both the Kuban and Demjansk are fine originals. Too bad that clothing looks like it have been cut around the shield edges.

            Hlynur,
Thank you very much for your information; there is so much information out there about these shields it is easy to get confused. I don’t mind, too much, about the cloth, at least they are original.
            All the best

              Bill,

Both are nice originals and quite common to see the cloth trimmed like this, especially the Demjansk.

I might recommend you take a cotton swab with some light oil (WD-40) and rub those rust spots on the Demjansk to prevent surface rust from spreading. The shield finish is fairly intact at this point and I would hate to see it worsen like so many of these do in time.

                Tim,
Thank you for your suggestion; I don't usually do anything to the surface of any antique item, but in this case I think you are correct.
                Regards,
                Bill
