Hi Dallas,

I have seen this shield before on this forum and the opinions weren’t very good at that time. I tend to move more towards the opinion that this shield looks a lot like an authentic shield made by JFS but better pictures would be very useful.

Would it be possible to post better pictures and also very important is to know if the shield is magnetic?

I got the pics from a dealer site. Maybe I can find where it was discussed before. I have bought and returned 3 Demjansk shields this past year. All bad and postage costs are not cheap.

I also agree with Pascal´s assumption. Everything speaks for a JFS Demjansk.

What would one do about the rust

Eventually it will rust through. Is it worth cleaning or the price of $200?

You will not be able to clean that rust off completely. In some areas it will have left pitting on the shield (sword´s grips for sure), in some other areas the rust will at least leave dark spots on the shield with slight pitting.
