    Demjansk help!!!

    Hello Guys,

I purchased this from Dion last year as original and now I'm being told it's a fake. Can you guys help??? Shields are very tough and not my area of expertise, your expert opinions would be of great assistance.

I'm told it's a faked because a "bent prop" version of this shield should not have rust on the reverse.

    Help is appreciated.

    Thank
    Mike

    Lovely Ironsheet Demjansk. Original imo

This type is where the "Serif J" Copy comes from.

That's good news, I always believed it to be original. More opinions should confirm it.

      All the best,
      Mike

          Hi Mike,
Don't worry. Your shield is 100% original.
The well known fake with the serif "J" and moving prop is in fact based on the original you are showing.
As for the rust, all except 1 type of Demjansk shields are made from iron sheet so rust is very common on these shields.

Here is a comparing of the original with the fake.

Your the expert Pascal, thanks to you and all the other members who commented. I've found that shields can be tricky and this one was no different.

That's why I love the forum.

All the best and thanks again,
            Mike
