Cholm Shield

Guys,
A friend of mine is looking at a tunic and he some concerns that the Cholm Shield may not be original. Hopefully some of you guys can give me an idea based only on a photo of the obverse. The shield is not magnetic and what appears to be a flaw on the "2" in the date is actually a small piece of thread. This just isn't my area, and any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

The Cholm is a (bad) fake!! Run away fast! What does the tunic look like? Run away!

Here is what the eagles head of a real cholm should look like. Notice the head and eye of this eagle. No helmet.
