I think, the third document you are talking about is the certificate which have been published on this forum which is related to a
          V.B. Abzeichen.

Concerning the Stosstruppabzeichen document that we did post with Polux, I think this is the second time that I see this document with a number in front of the Stosstruppabzeichen. In Polux' case there is a number 1.

I am not sure, I don't have the book in hand, but in the Christopher Ailsby book A collector's Guide to the Kriegsmarine, there is a similar certificate signed by FRISIUS which is also a number of Stosstruppabzeichen (I guess is two).

There is a book at Mittler-and Sohn verlag about german mini subs during WWII. There is a section about U activities in Dunkirk and one particular page related to one man crew mini sub' awards.

Here is a bad copy of the page. The man get the shield as well as another type of award. The author of the book clearly linked this sort of award to the Stosstruppabzeichen certificate. That's could explain that you could earn 1 or 2 of it and probably get something bigger afterward.... and by this way say that this certificate is definitivly not related to the shield.

Hope that the author of this thread will don't mind us to debate on a such subject...

                    Stunning.

I hope one day to have a Lorient and a Dunkirk.

Way out of my price range though

                    But one can hope, no?
