Hi Dan,
Strange to see another one of these. A couple of months ago a similar shield was posted. The concerns besides the lack of detailing were the strange cut of the cloth, the cut of the backing that exactly follows the outling of the shield and the big rectangular prongs.
Can't remember if we reached a definitive conclusion back then but I just found these pics in my copie files.

Sure, it is the same type of shield, but don´t let this give you a wrong feeling of reassurance. Where there is an original shield, there will be a second one and the same goes for fakes. Not surprising to see a second one of anything!
Even if this strange shield is original (after all, there is a minimal chance), take into account what a hard time you will have to convince other collectors that it is original, let alone the difficulties you will face when you try to resell it.
Buy a textbook one and post it here before you do so!Cheers, Frank

I agree completely with Frank here. I don't know if this shield is original or not as I have never seen one of these before. What I do know is that wouldn't like to have of these in my collection.
