    KRIM Shield Review

Hello guys... I am about to post my Campaign Shields in the forum for review.. I hope I don't get beat up too much! LOL. My fingers are crossed that my collection is real but like everything I find a repro here and there that I had no idea..

Anyway, here are two Krim Shields.. The one on the black backing is magnetic.. the one on the gray is not..

Any comments would be very appreciated. I can take better or closer up pics if anyone wishes...

The one w/ the black backing almost looks too clean and good to be true??

    Thank you,Scott

    Scott,

A little straighter-on shots are always best and watch the shadowing or you might get erroneous comments.

With that said, both shields look good. The Maedicke on the left looks to be in nice condition and is the harder to find of the two. The other one appears to be a worn Deumer.

    Congrats!

      Tim,

thank you for the quick and fast response... wow. I can't believe you even know who manufacturered these! Here are two straighter shots. It is a lot easier with one badge. Again, thank you very much!

        Scott,

Search for Maedicke threads and you'll learn a lot more on this one.

Thank you Tim! This is interesting.. I didnt know there was such a following on the Campaign Shields. I am also learning that people say the Maedicke one is extremely rare.. I had no idea nor did the seller...

          Thank you! Scott

            .....

Nice shields. The Maedicke's in fine condition.

BTW the Maedicke Krim is set up for the Kriegsmarine...even better IMO

Thank you Panther, Erwin and Tim,

Perhaps this isn't the thread for this but does anyone know why they only made a few campaign shields? IE why did they make campaign shields for other battles off the war? IE France Campaign, Battle of Britain, etc.... I understand they approved two others but they were never manufactured... I would say that 9.9 out of 10 people have never heard of the battles the shields are issued for.

                      Thank you, Scott
