    Two Demiansk.....an opinion...

    Hi to everyone,
I need your help on these two Demiansk shields.
The first one belongs to me.
The last two pics are about a shield belonging to a friend of mine.
Thank you very much for all the help you'll be able to give us......
    Warmest regards from Italy
    Giorgio

                        Hi Giorgio,

Are you looking for a maker's ID, or reassurances they are in fact authentic Demjansk shields?

IMO, both are original JFS type shields.

Now, as far as the backing paper...?

                        Tim

                          Hi Tim,
                          thank you for answer......
I posted 'em cause it seems that, these kind of shields accepted as original JFS , now are questionable.......
I think it's normal that sometimes, in collecting, some positive or negative find out brings to new knowledge......and an item, till this time considered original became a fake or the other way round a" fake" becomes a good one.
I'd be only interested in knowing why, and on which bases.......
                          I'm always learning......
Thank you again and all my best from Italy
                          Giorgio

I would be indeed interesting to hear other views on these shields.
These shields have always been regarded as original JFS shields but lately there have been some questions about the authenticity of these shields.

I for one would like to hear other opinions on these shields as I also have some doubts about these shields.

I too would be interested in these newer revelations, as I based my comments on what was known or considered as valid a few years ago.

JFS versions are not as commonly seen as some others and I have not heard anything negative, though those discussions must not have happened at WAF as I don't remember reading anything about it here.

It would be good information and a lively discussion if we can see why these are or, are no longer, considered authentic.

                              Tim
