Narvik shield question

    Don, The second one you posted is also a good one. Typical for this shield is the "1" and the "fat" eagle.

      Dear Don,

      On the first shield you posted:

      The "double strike" of the letters is a GOOD sign for that type "tooth in beak". You can see that it frequently happened on that type shield. Not as a rule though. Strangely enough only in the letter and number section "NARVIK" and "1940" of the shield. I attached another example of that type shield and you can see the double strike on the letters here as well.

      On the second example you posted:

      I do not like it and think it very close to the fake of the most common type. Here the difference between the 4 and the O is not so obvious, although it is there (I suspect due to lighting or some other photo condition it appears minor), but if you compare features, it is in all likeliness the most commonly found fake.

      @Paul W: in my opinion all of your 3 shields are fine.
