    Krimshield good or bad?

Please have a look at this shield and tell me your opinions.
I´ve had this for a long time and have always thought the eagles head looks flat and strange. I dont relly know anything about shields and have been comparing shields from this forum until my eyes started to bleed.

Also...during my ownership of this shield, the paperbacking has turned green on places...is this because of oxidation?

      Hello Karl.

Perfectly good shield and quite normal condition for this maker. The details on the wreath and eagle appear softer and I think from a worn or poorly made die.

To date I have only seen one or two with sharper details, so again, this one is typical of this maker.

The greenish color to the paper is actually fading as the backing paper on these were either black or this light pale green, as in your example.

      Congrats, an original Krim.

            Hi Karl,

Glad to help. You might try searching past threads on these. They sometimes are referred to as the "T-rex" style due to the head sort of resembling that dinosaur. So, you may have some more luck finding the past threads using that name in the search.

I heard a rumor that the maker may be identified now, but I'll leave that info out until we see more evidence of that.

            Tim

I was just going to ask about that. How is the maker?
