Kuban Shield help.

Hello all,

Coming Saturday I will be visiting a military fair close to where I live. I know a seller there who is selling a superb Kuban shield for a good price. Now I have requested photo's of the shield to post here but the photo's will not be here till Saturday I am afraid.

Could I get some information on what to look for? It is a real beauty but that is also where the danger lays.

Just go to the Badges & Awards Table of the for sale section and type in kuban.Theres some real nice ones there.Hope this helps.

Already on it, but it would be nice if I got some tips.
There are mostly posts saying original or fake but no real tips what to look for.

Hopefully I will find some tips.

Also check out the detailing of the Shield that you might be getting.And beware cuz theres alot of repos out there.

I already found some interesting info here and there. Tim Ball also has some good tips and photo's which will be helpful. I will be on my guard Saturday, if I do decide to buy it I will post it here and hope for the best.

Luckily the dealer is there every month so if it's a bad one I will return it.

I think on the repos that the bottom of the wing were the feet are the wing will go stright across the shield,instead of being rounded then go stright across the shield like it should be.

Also I think the A method is one that is a pretty good to recognize a copy from a original. I am only not sure if the A method is always usable as way of telling it's original.

Well I already have a bit more confidence to determine if the shield is a copy or not. At least a few things I have to look for. But of course I will still trip over real good copies. Looking forward to Saturday to check if it's a good one or not.

I will take the advice with me. I have made a list what to look out for and will print a few reference photo's to take with me. If I buy it I will post it here asap.
