Lorient shield

Hello all,

Recently got this grouping in the mail:

Now, I know the Lorient shield discussions are full of flak so I just wanted to state some things before we begin. Everything else in the grouping is original, however I do NOT know when the lot was put together. The seller gave me everything for about $400.00 - so he didn't know what he had and had no motive on the Lorient shield at all. It is rather heavy.

Opinions and any information is welcome on this one. I will gladly provide more images upon request.

The design of this one is typical of the 1970s fakes.

A similar one in brass is shown in 'Detecting the Fakes'.
