I played with your PIC's a bit and hope you don't mind. Can you tell me if the modified PIC below is a truer representation of your shield, color-wise?
Tim
Hello Tim, Hello Pascal! First, many thanks for the time you dedicated me. Yes, the colour is faithful to the badge in hands.... I'd say more the left (front) view.
Thanks for all of your efforts, inputs and suggestions.
No idea when the other pics where formerly posted, but indeed looks like the very same badge! I just traded in, and ...who knows how many owners it has had since then.
Thanks a lot for your help!
Interesting thread this one. As you well know Tim I know nothing about Narviks but a question came to me when reading this thread so I must ask. Were there any coastal artillery soldiers at Narvik? We all know the battle with the Brits involved Navy, army and LW but I dont think there were any coastal batteries to be manned by dedicated navy artillery men at Narvik. Could be well wrong but worth further reading I feel.
Hi Peter,
Well I stand corrected and bow to your wisdom. Well then if that is the case and it certainly looks like it then this shield would be a somewhat rare example one would think and certainly nice in a collection. Pete do you have an example in your collection?

Phil
Never come close Phil although I do agree with Tim and Pascal, the cloth looks period and the shield looks well seated on the cloth...I'm just not sure on the backing paper...really needs a hands on inspection, but on balance I like it.
