The hole and indentation at the swastika make it appear that it was fastened to something at one time, but, without the backing as there is no hole in the back plate.

Hi!!!
I can´t imagine that this is a ground dug, the cloth is in a to good condition.
And I´am missing all the dry blood on the cloth. After this heavy injury, there must be a lot of blood.
Doesn´t matter if the shield is original or not, in my opinion the bullet-hole is post war.

Thomas

Hi guys,
I do not agree. The shield is an original shield and with the correct backing plate.
As for the bullet hole, I don't know. I am not a forensic expert.
But whatever happened with this shield I wouldn't like to have it in my collection.
Here is the same shield from my collection.

I think it is the blurryness in the pictures that leads one to assume it is a fake shield, it looks like it has no detail at all, but now when Pascal posts the one he has it looks a lot better.
Still I wouldn´t personally not have bought the shield with those pictures, and I don´t like these kinds of bullethole stories, looks like someone put a round through it just to make it more exciting.
