Hello, I am in need of opinions on this shield. I have been unable to determine the maker/type. Thanks, Tony

Hi guys,
Tony, I don't know the weights and as I don't collect the zinc pieces will not be able to help with that.
I must admit that the "layering" look along the edges concerns me a bit, but as my actual hands-on experience is limited on these, I will leave that to others like Filip, Peter, and Pascal for starters.
I do not think the Deumer Narviks have been this successfully copied yet, but there are copies out there of Deumer style Narvik shields. The layering along the edge may be legit, but I would have thought it would be limited to those shields that were in fact CupAl (Copper/Aluminum). To the best of my knowledge, no Narvik shields (any original shield for that matter) that were sandwiched or pressed together to make up the shield base metal.
More inputs needed on this one IMO.

Tony , to the best of my knowledge, there was never a cupal "Deumer" Narvik.
Every "Deumer" that I ever came across was made of zink. Now, if you say that your shield is much lighter then the other known "Deumer" Narviks and in addition to that is made of some untypical compound, I would say that this is one of the shields that I just told Tim about.

Ok, I appreciate the help but first it is acknowledged as an original Deumer. Then when the weight is known it is a copy indistinguishable from an original? If there are die flaws I can accept that but I am not aware of any reproduction badge that the only defect is weight. This is not a hostile post, just confusing. Thanks, Tony

Also as Filip has said the Deumer shield is heavily copied and we're seeing this with the Cholm shield's (cast Cupal as opposed to die struck)
But it's a difficult one...maybe better pics would help
Hope that helps.....Peter
