Hello fellow collectors I have been offered 2 krims and I need your opinion especially the difference on the space between the wreath bottom and the land mass between both of them.

thanks all for the valuable help

          Hi Guill,

Well, as Pascal already stated, both are original shields. The green cloth would suggest that both are Heer (Army).

As far as makers, they are both unknown at this point. I suggest you get your hands on a reference such as Weber's "The Krim Shield". In it, you'll see both of these shields shown/discussed.

Using his old reference, the one on the left is shown on pqge 56; one of the details is of course the wider area between the coastline and swastika. Also, the backplate holes are larger on this one.

The piece on the right is shown on page 50, I always call this one the "sparrow" version as the eagle's head is more narrow. The claws on these are almost unproportionally large IMO. Also, it has the tapered edge tabs type attachments, vice typical prongs.

          Hope that helps.
          Tim

Both are original and exactly as Tim and Pascal have said but both appear to have been rebacked with new cloth so the value somewhat decreases.
