Hi Steve......

......I'm with divisionpanzer on this one. What concerns me is how much space there is between the bottom of the wreath and the coastline. Hold out for some more opinions on this one. I'm not absolutely sure about it it, but it is one I would be seeking more input on before I leaped.

Hope this helps....I'd like to find out myself.

hello,,,well Im looking at the new book of Krim shields by Sascha Weber and on page number 94,,I believe is this one,,,,,,,it shows coastline and wreath same ,,and other areas look good,,also paper backing pretty close,,,so its unknown maker RARE type,,,,check it out,,thanks Greg,,hope this clears things up,,,

I like this one, I have had the same type down to the same backing cloth.

Hi guys,
The shield as posted by Steve is 100% original.
The maker of this type is unknown and typical for this type of shield is the wide area between the wreath and the coastline.
As for the backing cloth and paper it is always very difficult to tell but I like what I am seeing.
Normally the backing plate for this type should have big holes for the prongs and the prongs should be bend horizontally.

Following up from the comment I left on the Heer forum discussing this same shield.

IMO, I also feel this is an original shield, maker is currently unknown and if you have the old Weber reference (I don't have his newer one), this type is pictured on page/s 56 & 57. The wider distance between the wreath and coastline is called out on this style.

Looks nice; I do not know about the cloth/backing but, as others have not negatively commented on it, I would say it's also probably good.
