    Demjansk on eStand

    Hello All,

Mike is holding the IAB and Demjansk shield and suggested I put the Demjansk up for review:

    http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=370154

My primary concern is if it looks to be original. Secondary concern is what looks to be three holes (rivet-like holes) in the 3 vertices of the shield - has anyone seen this before, or is this the result of a previous owner's display/mounting techniques.

Any idea on the maker of the IAB or Shield?

    Thanks!

    Eric

I'd like to see better pics.....IMO the shield doesn't look original.

Here are some more pics. It has 3 tiny holes made in it which have been mostly soldered closed from behind. these may have been for display purpose? Or sewn to tunic? Shield is magnetic. Is this a missing log variant? The second log in on right outside lower wall is missing on this one.

I am not a fan of this shield. Every little detail looks like it has been rounded off. I have never seen a missing log varient that is this missing all of its detail as this one is. This is one that I would pass on even if it was a good price.

                    Regards,
                    Chris G.

You are welcome, I bought this shield on estand, a few years ago. I will post it on GCA also, Just to make sure. It is much better for all to find out before items are shipped/sold. I have had it happen before.
I thought that magnetic Demjansk shields were ok and the zincers were the ones to watch out for. Thanks to all who looked.

Hi Mike..after seeing these pics, your shield's original....what threw me was the rubbed out detail.

                          Best...Peter

I don't have the best camera, But I try to make the best of it with a portable studio with lights. You should have seen my pics 3 years ago!
