Question about Narvik low 4 fake

    Hi

How long has this fake been around?

Today as was looking in my old book For Führer and Fatherland by Angolia.
I have the second edition from 1985.

Is there anybody who have the first editon from 1976.

Reason for that i ask is that the Narvik shield he show in my book looks like the classic low for fake.

    .........

Hi Andy.. This isn't the small '4' fake, but an original, attributed to Juncker.

Same type as discussed in this thread. http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...d.php?t=353838

Agree with Peter. The low 4 was copied from the shield in that book.

The illustration in For Fuhrer and Fatherland is so poor that it looks like someone wrapped the photo around a fish. I doubt anyone would use such a poor photo to make a copy.

              Hi again guys!

I still think that the shield shown in the book should be a low 4 fake.
              I post a picture of a fake.
And i think they are very similary.

And please, if you have any picture of a original Juncker to show i,ll would be glad to see it.

              Best

Where did this small 4 fake stuff come from? What's made this "solid" proof? Trying not to sound thick................

I was referring to the Juncker Narvik in general as being a prototype for the fake in question.

Fozz....This copy first appears around the early 90's. Poor quality stamping and lacks the detail of an original Narvik shield. The backing cloth and backing paper never looks convincing. The Deschler shield is thought to have been the original this fake was copied from.
Here's another small '4' which highlights the problems with this shield.
