I think this shield stands a good chance of being an original 1945 made shield. I also think this type gets mixed up with the so called 57 shield.

I think this is a fake intended to deceive, a cast based on a so called '57'

What is this guy saying? Does he speak english , as it is not apparent from the posting. This comment Doesn't make any sense to me. Can anyone interpret this garble?
I dont believe they would drill the plate from the back to front, and leave a big burr like these holes have. Could snag clothing, and germans quality is not consistant with this kind of job. Holes for stitching wouldnt need to be that large also, so im also assuming it isnt right. My gut feeling.

I used to have this type...swapped it back with the dealer for a nice HSF badge...

Whether this shield's original or not, don't waste your money Javi, it'll always be a contentious piece.
Give me the award docs anyday...

              Best..Peter

The only Lapp Shield I would ever even think about adding to my collection would be out of the hands of the original awardee himself.

Items like this that can be hammered out on a piece of tin that have no die characteristics is a HUGE gamble that I would NEVER take.

Especially the value of these things that dealers ask for ...
