Opinions about these? Wehrpass and urkunde are both for same Oberkanonier.Shield with the set is definetly postwar production and why the swastika is "censored" from the urkunde? Looks cheesy to me.

can you show us the unit page please?
what do you make of the fp number? 40779B? in any case *0779B doesn't belong to any 'Norwegian' unit in the area.
To be honest my first impression is that the document is bad and the entry in the WP fake but we need to see more of the WP.
None of what i see is consistent with what i would expect to see coming from fossbakken

With respect, if your father was in Norway with the KM then he didn't have 'the same set' Fossbakken was a purely Heer reservation and held the stab of the 9 Gebirgs division along with elements of Gebirgs nachrichten abteilung 140. Also, for you information, the British 'ran' the demobilisation in norway. American presence was limited to one battalion (the 99th independent infantry Btl. because it included a lot of Norwegian americans)Last edited by Simon O.; 04-13-2009, 04:30 PM.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Hi!!!
Of course you are right, Simon. My father has not definetly the same set. And you are also right of the POW camp. My father was captured by british soldiers. I asked him. Here are now some pictures of his documents. Enjoy it. Recognize that the Lapplandshield document has no swastika in the stamp.

A nice group and a good example of how all the information should fit together.
The 22 MS-Flottille ended the war at Rørvik, North of Trondheim with the M-302, M-321, M-322, M-361 and M-436. It seems that either the office of the Admiral of the Norwegian North Coast did a lot of paperwork the 6 May '45 or awards were backdated to the 6 May in order to make them 'legal' because you find a lot of awards from this command with that date.
Later on KM personnel in this part of the country were concentrated at Ørlandet, still a major Norgwegian military base. The Lapplandschild urkunde is signed by the kommandeur of Marine Artillerie Abteilung 507, Fregattenkapitän Karl Slickers. Note that he signs it as 'Marine Führer' an important point as it shows how, far from being POWs the Wehrmacht in Norway continued to function under the orders of the British until well into Sept\Oct.Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Without question, 40779B belonged to the 1 Kp. of Transport Sicherungs Btl.595 which in 1945 was located in what is today the Czech republic. A long, long way away from Fossbakken which is about an hours drive or so North of Narvik.
The unit named on the doc was also nowhere near Norway and the reservation at Fossbakken contained no artillery units.
Do you have scans of pages 12\13 and 32\33?Collecting German award documents, other paperwork and photos relating to Norway and Finland.

Hi Simon!!!!!!
Your knowledge about the history of norway is incredible. I´am very proud to be a member of this forum. Thank you very much for your great background of history. I will tell it to my father and we will share your commentary together. I hope he is still in the mood to understand what I say, because he is not so healthy.
Again and again, many thanks for your explanation.
Very kindly regards
