            It may well be a Deumer. The 2 in 1942 looks to be in the same style as a Deumer.

            Maybe I should go find my specs......

                    Yeah I say original Deumer -- this shield being listed as 1.01 in the Weber book (short 1 in 1942, and round retaining pins on the reverse).

                        Compared it to mine with wire pins on the back and see no problems with it. The back plate looks suspiciously recent, though.
