    Cholm shield, opinions please!

    what do you think about this cholm shield? I got it today from the family.......but no photos, docs or other medals. Only the shield....

          My opinion and a question

          Hello,

          I am confused. I agree with PantherV, that this badge looks like it was tried to be denazified. Come to think of it, I haven't ever seen a Cholm 1957 issue (denazified) for veterans. If anyone comes across one, I'd love to see it.

          My confusion is that in one of your shots, (showing the back of the shield) there is the swastika in the Iron Cross, yet it only appears in one of the photos.

          From looking at it as well, the eagles head is something that many people say is a ringer for a forgery.

          I have a Cholm Shield that I got from D. Niemann. I am trying to get enough postings so I can show this shield to members.

          This is just my humble opinion. Good luck,

              I am not keen on this example. This reminds me of fake IAB's and PAB's that have been "denazified". It's a fact that the fakers try to pass these examples off as good.

                    It´s not the frist time that medals was denazifiziert to sell them as original POW item.
                    On ebay we will find a lot of fakes without swastikas.

                    But not my Demjansk shield under "Bedel2000" this is a good one on eBay...

                    Strange is that I got the cholm shield from the family.........**** happens....

                      Here's 2dresq907's Cholm shield from DN. I'm sure it's ok but kinda looks like it's got the helmet head.
                      Maybe needs better scans.
