I am an addicted collector and have been for 40 some years. Sure, it is nice that some of the items I paid pennies for are now worth thousands, but that doesn't entice me to run out and take the profit by selling them. In fact, it the value crashed back down to pennies, it wouldn't bother me in the least. It would just give me the ability to get more items that I can't presently afford.
So for me the important thing is if the item is original. In this case, I know it is. Is no one else believes that, TFB, I know otherwise. When someone questions it, I will defend it. If they are not convinced, at least I have documented my reasons for thinking otherwise.
But you are 100% correct. From an investment standpoint, there are better safer things to spend your collecting dollars on.
