It is somewhat overpriced for the shield in this condition, but then again, what's 20-30 Euro for a nice Wurster Demjansk that you don't see for sale everyday.

this is indeed a very nice Demjansk.............I would be comfortable paying about 350 € for a baby like this, but not much more, only my personal opinion.............but if you want one in this condition I would say you have to pay about 350-400 €

Any comments on the slightly different position of the log's end on my Wurster?

            cheers

Can you post the reverse pic of your shield?

I could do that, but I don't see how that can help you with the question I raised.

                cheers

Peter, it would be interesting to see if the shield's maker marked.

Just pulling your leg Pete. Here's a link for the reverse. Notice the log on Pascal's KW-marked shield and compare it to mine and the one posted here.

Wurster was one of the makers mass-producing arm shields. Krim as well as Demjansk. Though there were a lot less Demjansk shields produced then Krims , they must have used 2 different dies , just like with Krims. The one on the top of this thread and yours represent these 2 different dies

Thanks Filip, two dies makes sense. I'm not sure if I read you correctly, can you please confirm which schields you´re referring to in your comparison image.

                          cheers

Number 1 on my image is the type that Ivan posted at the top of this thread. Number 2 is what you have.
