KM Narvik shield Tombak/Zinc

Hi....got the KM Narvik shield today and thought I'd post it up for a discussion on whether Zinc or Tombak.

Peter, as I've said before, I'm pretty sure it is made of zinc. You will never see that sort of bubbling on Tombak or CupAl shields. Not to mention the zink showing through the edelweiss centre. But I like this Narvik a lot anyways.

I agree Filip.....definately a Zinc shield. I even weighed it against another Zinc shield and they both came out at 40.4 grams. The copper tone looks to be a discolouration in the gilt.

nice shield....

But I´m sure that the shield is tombak, because it´s very heavy version.

Maybe some Guys like to post the weights of their Narvik shields. Zinc and tombak weights are welcome.

What is the weight form your new shield Peter?

Hi Mathias....I compared the shield to this one below, both came in at 40.4 grams. The Cupals are about 10 grams lighter. I'd guess the Tombak will fall somewhere in the middle.
