Need Help on Narvik Shield Please!

    Hello Everybody,

Someone told me that my Narvik shield is a fake because it is non-magnetic and that it have a smallest 4 in the number 40 than usual. Any opinions? I have included front and rear of the shield as well as a close up of the number 40.

    Thank you!

    Kirk09

    Hi Kirk,
I am afraid your shield is indeed a fake but this has nothing to do that it is non-magnetic. To be more specific there are no original magnetic Narvik shields of this type to my knowledge.
Your shield is called the small "4" fake because it looks like the "4" is smaller then the "0"

Maybe we should have a sticky that shows the more common fake shields to avoid these continual threads and help members see exactly what to look for.

        Pascal,

Can you post a good side by side shot of the "small-4" and "Flock" Narvik copies here as these seem to be the ones most members have problems identifying?

When is that book coming out BTW?

          Hi Tim,
I will post a side shot of both these fakes later.
As for the shields book, I'm aiming for next year. I want to cover all the shields and want to cover them completely just like we did with the CCC book and the upcoming PAB book. These books will be in 10 years as actual as the are now. Therefore I still need some more time doing research.

This year will be the year of the long awaited Panzer Assault bible. I am very busy with this publication and hardly have any spare time. Man, this publication is going to shake the collectors world up.
Never before I have seen such a detailed publication with so many pictures. At this moment there are well over a thousand pictures!!!! All in hi-res colour and there are added more pictures every day.
I hope that we can show some previews of the book very soon.

Looking forward to the book as well. Wish all these quality reference books had all come out when badges and shields were more affordable though as I don't buy much anymore.

                  Hi Pascal

Do we consider that warehouse discovered magnetik Narvik lot to be non original now?

What I was trying to say was that there are no magnetic shields known of which the shield from Kirk is a copy from.
