    Narvik- snaggletooth in Tombak?

    Greetings!

I would say that this is a textbook "snaggletooth" in tombak. Am I right in assuming so?

    Filip,

Looks like it, but a better close-up of the eagle would be helpful to my tired eyes.

      Narvik

Hi Tim......what worry's me is that three of these buntmetal Narvik's have appeared on a german dealers site, and for a relatively rare shield, that's suprising.....I dunno, maybe it's just me.

anyway, here's a so called 'Snaggletooth' Narvik on LW backing.

Can’t get any better picks for now, Tim, but here is the close-up of the one that Peter was referring to.

Peter, out of those three only 2 seem to be of the same type and make. They show different stages of ware N tare and frankly , I don’t see any problems with any of them either.

You're probably right Filip......individualy they look fine. I might go for one myself..just suprised to see 3 Cupal's all at once

A couple of weeks ago I'd heard of a local antique and militaria dealer whose just taken delivery of a load of shields (Krims, Cholms and Narviks) so I went over to take a look. The Krims and the Cholms wouldn't fool anyone who collects shields (although he did sell a Cholm shield for £350 ) but the Narviks aren't bad(not good but not bad either).

Is this site still having problems?? Half of my posts are either turning up as white screens or taking forever to transmit. Both today and last night. This is getting really painful, especially when you lose everything typed.

As I was trying to say...in my timely response to your inquiry

It looks good to me and definately a snaggle-tooth design. Sorry if you missed out on it, but there will be another down the road, just be paitient.
