I read Stijn's post but I don't know what you mean; my example has a pencilled number on the back with what looks like to be someone's initials.

Gene, I thought you meant the number. Ive never seen one and first was told all are numb ered on back. Ive really got ants in my pants on this one.

Based on the pics it looks like a nice document. The problem as we all know is that documents are just too hard to find to determine an accurate percentage of numbered vs unnumbered examples. I have seen one other document than mine but I don't recall if it was numbered or not. Personally I wouldn't sweat it if it is unnumbered.

I have vieuwed 57 original awards documents, of these only 2 where unnumbered.

1: absolutely non explainable
2 : clearely noted it was a second issue.

Are there other original cholmdocuments without number? most probably yes, but as we can see from the above they are not the rule. The numbered ones are the rule.

There are Cholm award documents known from the Jagd Kdo 8, however the unit designation is written in a otehr way then the shown document here. Please also do ebar in mind that it is actually a rather very easy document, not a fancy one like a large KC presentation map. Therefor ethey are very easely faked.

In the end it is you that needs to be happy with it, as said before, my offer does stand.

The closest number known towards your family members doc is. 3311. Now i am curious offcoarse to know the unit etc ...

Very likely a real document

Just for the record: I have seen four Cholmschildbesitzzeugnisse in my life with no number on the back. One of them was a duplicate issue, the other three all belonged to members of Jagdkommando 8!

Thanks, I had this one in hand finally and in any experience I can draw on age this was right on target. It is gone now.

it is original Cholm document, i will not judge originality mainly depanding upon the pencil backside. What do you think?

I posted the "Cholm"-grouping of Otto EY, a former member of "Jagdkommando 8" here on WAF some time ago together with the shield and the Wehrpaß. The award doc is not numbered.
