Hi Alex have to say that better closer pics of the award are really needed as the copies of this type of shield are very well done. To me it looks like what i like to call the drooped beak eagle award but its hard to tell going off the pics supplied .If that is the case. IMO this is an original shield.
I would think the shield is magnetic and an early one of this type.
The later ones were with side tabs and not with prongs like this one.

HI Alex have to agree that it does look a lot better with that last pic one of my main concern was in the first pic the lettering seemed weak and looked a little sprawled the J in the centre looking more like an o. Or is that just my eyes or these bloody glasses
. I liked the patina, and the detail however i have to say that the leg of the 3 seemed a little high for me, thought the leg of the three fell below the 4 on these not parrell
.
