    I have looked over previous threads and think this is ok. however, I would appreciate confirmation of this from those more in the know

        Hi Andy,
        Sorry but this is a known 100% fake shield.
        Also the setup on the reverse is unkown to any original Demjansk shield.

          Please explain why this is supposed to be 100% fake...
          I mean it will help us all if we can learn something....

          Could the prongs be replacement prongs?

          It looks to be made far to well and detailed to be a fake..

            Hi Paul,
            The shield as posted from Andy is a known fake and has been discussed on this forum before.
            There are so many things wrong with this shield but let me just mention the most prominent ones.
            The shield is made from the wrong material,
            The shield completely flat,
            The setup on the back is wrong (even for a replacement),

            You say the it looks far to well and detailed to be a fake, well the fakes these days are getting better by the day and some of them are so good that you can hardly tell the difference even on high res scans. There is no way that you can tell these days if a shield is original or a fake just by the detailing.

            BTW, here is the same fake which I have in my collection.
