"Poor fake?" I don't think so. To me it looks more like an early shield made by Friedrich Orth.

It´s what you want but not "poor".
If a fake it´s the best that I have seen.
I think it´s an original, but if posible, for a 100% security, post a picture of the reverse.

Thanks for the comments.I can't show the back,its sewn down on a Pz wrap.I have had the uniform for almost 30yrs and always felt the shield was original but I had second thoughts about it after getting a copy of S.Weber's Krimschild book.I thought it could be a F.O copy.
