    Hello Ivan,

Very interesting => could you post side to side comparisons from both shields ?

    Cordial Greetings,

      Hello everyone,

      Here is mine.
I purchased this Cholm Shield about one year ago in England from the person who doesn't know anything about German awards. I am pretty much sure this piece is original, but probably, as the most of other collectors, sometimes I am in doubt about authenticity of the things too.
Shield is made of very thin metal and looks like never was painted. At least, there is no paint in "grooves".
Same as on the previos "long-M" examples, some details including the eye, are not sharp. The shield has wear on high points and was bent when I found it - the previos owner didn't care much about the badge.
Sorry, I cannot show the rear side of the shield because it is sewed to the tunic now. But it has three flat prongs made of some yellow metal: two are on the top and one is on the bottom.

Head... this is the best what my camera can do.

      Thank you for comments, guys.

            Cholm shields

            Hello,

bnz => your shield has not the appearance of the original pieces and I believe your shield has been discussed already in lenght in this thread :

            http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...threadid=21106

it is a nice story you tell with it but as with story's they remain story's and can't make a mouse into a elefant. in other words i too find it very hard to believe that you restaured this piece into a impeakable shield once again without leaving any trace of the previous bending , etc .... and the details on your shield are just not as they suppose to be ( and for a Cholmshield that is concern enough to stay away from it. )

            cordial greetings,
my collectionfield : German glider pilots
